I've had some time between snapping pics for articles on the blog and writing them and I took some pics of fish and corals (later:)) in vendors' tanks. Lmk what you think:)

I'll upload some more later.

I can't imagine how you got such good pics there, we didn't even bother to take the camera knowing we couldn't even edge in to look at anything 99% of the time LOL.

Did you get any pics of the 2 tanks that had the brick walls in them? The lion tank was perfect with that kind of background!

We wanted to know what these fish were. I know I've seen them before, but couldn't remember what they were.

This is juvenile spotted drum, Equetus punctatus. I've seen them while diving in Florida, they are rather shy fish hiding in rock crevices. It can attain a length of 9" In my opinion, spotted drum is one of the most underrated reef fish in our hobby

Thank you. I knew they were juvies, too cool for that to have been their max size! Can't wait to see the rest of the pics!

Wow that's great. That just proves I really suck cuz I have the same nikon d7000 and I have nikons 17-55 2.8 lens myself and still haven't shot anything impressive. Any tips on settings ISO aperture shutter speed white balance?

Don't be so critical about your skills, it's not that I'm doing it the first time. I learned how to "read" aquarium conditions to adjust my flash output (if I use one), the ISO and aperture. I wrote a series of articles about aquarium photography, PM me your e-mail and I'll send you a link (unfortunately site rules prohibit that here).
