fish question

Do fish like to swim in high water current? is it good for the fish? the reason I ask is I just chg to 2 koralia#3 ph and they made very strong flow... and my fish are blue tang, tp clown, goldenhead goby and a coral beauty...

I have a Blue Tang that loves to surf the current in my tank....... I think it helps build muscle and in turn is very healthy..... She will swim through the current up to the PowerHead and turn and whoosh to the other end and do it again... Kind of cool to watch.....

Ya they'll be perfectly fine with that. That is not overly strong for a 72. They may hide for a couple days, but once they're use to it, they'll love it :)

I agree. The natural flow of the ocean is nothing like we try to create in our tanks. Flow is a good thing, imo. ;)

thx everyone, what about coral... I do have several coral lps( forgspawn, torch), also mushroom and a geniopora.. they all kind of retrack a little last night also... can someone advise??

seems normal from what I understand....mine too!

They expand during the day and retrack at night ....something to do with eating and expelling waste

ya same as the fish...once they get used to it, they should be fine. For stuff like hammers, i dont think that you should have a powerhead pointing directly at it...but then again in my 10g tank i have a K1 and it was pointing at the glass right in front of a huge torch coral.. so it was hitting it pretty directly. That torch loved the flow in there. It was always open really nice and even improved in colors since i got it.
