I am currently researching setting up a 180gal tank, and putting the sump, refug, frag tank, and mixing tank in my garage. I have seen other setups installed in garages, are there any ill effects from exhaust from vehicles?
Good practice for animals and people, is that you should not run the cars in the garage without the door open. You could build up CO pretty fast without ventilation.
A decent vent and fan system should keep most issues down assuming you don't do silly things like warm the car up in the garage for 20 mins (like my gorlfriend did once with my '66 Dart)
I put my tank in the garage, but solved the problem by having no more room for a car.
alright, thats what I thought. I'll just have to try not to let the harley run too long in the middle of winter now..... vehicles would only be running for a few seconds anyways, and doors always open. Just sized my tanks. looking at a 400gal setup, well little less due to sump being half full, so 350. Hope I can pull this off!
Kenneth, Where are you located and what's your temp spread in the garage. If it's cold enough to need to warm up a vehicle, exhaust isn't going to be your biggest issue.
