Fish Scratching

I'm looking for opinions and an open discussion on the topic. I've got my first set of fish in qt for the new tank. Fish include

5 small clownfish
1 purple stripe dottyback (pseudochromis diadema)
1 small blue hippo tang

All of them ate at the LFS and all looked to be in decent condition. Like most LFS, they have fish in their systems that are infected with numerous infections/diseases. That said, I can assume that the likelyhood of the fish I bought are infected with something. I brought them home on February 28th and had qt matched for temp and salinity. Drip acclimated and all fish went into the qt tank. All fish appeared to take it very well with minimal stress.

Next day I observed all fish for awhile and noticed a white blotchy patch on the blue hippo and him scratching the area on PVC that is in tank. White patch was the size of half a dime. I treated fish with PraziPro twice with doses spread out 5 days. I saw no signs of crypto but I know that the fish store had fish with crypto so I did start Cupramine a few days ago. All fish are eating well and blue hippo has stopped scratching completely. I see no signs of any problems with the clownfish. No uronema, brook, velvet, crypto except one clown has bite marks from some past aggression I believe (they had like 50 baby clowns in one tank at the LFS) and he is the only clown that strays from the group except for feeding time. I plan on continuing the copper treatment the full 15 days although I've seen ZERO signs of crypto. So here comes my question(s).

Just now I noticed the Purple Strip Dottyback scratching on the PVC a few times near his gill area. Why do you thing the scratching has been so delayed?

Continue cupramine for a full 30 days at the recommended dose. The scratching could be Ich since it always starts in the gills.
