Fish shuffle

fish stalker

Well it's been a year since we moved and we have almost got all the fish happy again, by that I mean they are playing well with others :lolspin: all except for those in the 210 where the picasso (smallest fish in tank) is causing waves so time to make some fish shuffle decisions. I have some options to move fish around but trying to get a balance without to many more tanks so any advice input etc would be good. We had lost some fish in the move and had to replace and regrow etc so now we have the following combo gold heart trigger, Indian trigger, dogface puffer, pbt, h/tusk and picasso. The established clown trigger was taken out and put into a separate tank as the picasso kept beating him up and I couldn't catch the culprit so had to save the victim at least for now. Both triggers had been in the tank for a few months with the picasso being added last. The clown had not been eating well for a few weeks and was the easiest tigger catch I ever made, scooped him right out with minimal fuss. Even in the q/tank the clown is still not eating like a trigger, picking off the rock and macro I put in mostly. The picasso is also harassing my tusk so got to either unpack and move one or the other.

I have a subadult Koran which will be the last fish for this tank and I have to rearrange rock to stop the boss of the tank the pbt going too nuts so it's fishing time too I guess.
My question is do I leave the picasso and take out the tusk to a separate tank or leave the tusk and take out the Picasso? This is one skittish tusk , it swims about but is often chased by the picasso so not getting enough food etc. Question 2 I'm in the process of moving my male blue jaw to a bigger tank so the tusk would /could be moved to the same tank with it although I'm also considering leaving the tusk and adding the blue jaw to the 210 when i add the angel (of course this route would definitely not have the picasso in there too). The adding of the 2 fish and rearrangement of rock should hopefully ease the aggression from the tang etc or at least split it up so seriously considering this one. Ok so any ideas out there? :bounce1:

If your picasso is the smallest fish in the tank and is already terrorizing tankmates...it's only going to get worse from here. I'd remove the picasso. The victims are already under enough stress.

Yes this is my concern too. Ime if a Picasso this small starts to nip it's only going to get worse. The blue jaw currently in one of my grow out/holding tanks will be moved to it's own tank this weekend so it will be a good time to move the tusk too. The picasso is prob going to be rehomed or is that retanked?
To date the most aggression I've had from the triggers I have kept has been from a Niger and a picasso not the queen, clown, blue line or undulate. Not to say they aren't aggressive fish just that I've seen more aggressive behaviour from the first two.

Update
Tusk out and into a holding tank, picasso in the sump throwing 'toys' around, juv Koran in 210 eating like a pig, resident pbt having a hissy fit whew! It's been a long day but all fishy residents are happy again so time to open that wine and sit back to watch some fish
:) :) :) :) :)
