fish stocking order advice

OK I have a 46 gallon bowfront with a 55 gallon sump that just finished cycling. My plans are to add a mccoskers wrasse clownfish ( true perculas or oscellaris) and a yellow prawn goby.

My lfs supplier is currently out of the wrasse and does not know when they will get more. My question is would it be wise to go ahead and add the clownfish and then the wrasse at a later date? I don't want the wrasse to be picked on I have keep saltwater water before but I always had predators I am Going peaceful this time and really don't want any bullying (or as little as possible). And advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.

should be fine, as long as you're not buying the biggest female occy or perc you find at the store. 46g is plenty of space for both, order won't matter that much.

OK awsome and I usually go for the smallest I like to watch them grow so that won't be a problem. Do you have a preference towards occy or perc? I'm having the worst time deciding lol.

Get one of each, they will accept each other as mates as long as you dont get 2 females.

Will two be OK in that size tank with a lone flasher wrasse?

My sump is larger than my display so I'm not worried about bioload just territory from what I understand when they pair they can claim a pretty large space?

i would not mix species. occy come in much more color/pattern variations that percs, but a pair of either would be a nice fish

Why not mix species? One of my tanks I have a ocellaris/ black ocellaris pr that are awesome. They have been together for over 3 yrs and occasionally lay eggs. I like the fact that they are different but still a pr.

Hybrids of these are sold all the time, so it certainly can and does work

And in case you needed another opinion, no problem adding the clowns first, just get them nice and small if you can. They will start being aggressive/defensive once mature and especially when protecting eggs.
