I have a 75 gallon display and 40 breeder sump. Plan for mixed reef. I want a pair of locally breed special clowns and an RBT. What are some other companions to consider?
They eat algae off rocks and glass. They also have an amazing personality.
I've had mine for about a month, he likes to bunny hop on the sand, and they will
swim sideways on rocks. Which I find really cute. He will also stare at you with his mouth wide open when you approach the tank xD
Im a fan of anything that can be kept in pairs or harems.
Harem of yellow Coris Wrasse.
Pair of basslets of some kind. . . Chalk, Swissguard, assessors,
13-15 Red Spot Glass Cardinals
3-5 Eviota Gobies
3 or so Clown Gobies
Pistol/Gobie Pair
If you want ideas, check out the group in my signature, I have a similar tank size. I also have a yellow clown goby in quarantine that will be going in next. It's as peaceful a group as it gets.
I have 3 lyretails in an 80. They are doing fine. The male is a tad agressive but don't think that is uncommon. He kind of winds up before he darts at a fish (think King Hippo in Mike Tyson's Punchout) so the other fish can easily avoid him. There are other Anthias that have a smaller recommended tank size than the Lyretail. Just be ready to feed 3 xs daily.
