Hello all, I am thinking of setting up a large ~250 gal fish-only system. I am wanting a harlequin tusk, a queen angel, and a clown trigger or a blue-jaw trigger. What else do you think would go well with these brutes?

I know that when I upgrade my 90g into the 200gal+ range, I will be looking to add schools of unique fish. Instead of having "1 of everything" I'd rather see a dozen anthias running around with mated pairs of other fish.

I am all the way there with King-Kong. If you can successfully pull off a school of anthias, that is unbelievable nice. Although I think? that anthias are happier in a reef tank with lots of stuff to munch on and like to be fed small meals 3 or 4 times a day.

My other favorite would be 2 or 3 Golden Butterflies (Chaetodon Semilarvatus) - they play nice together and are as pretty as they get.

i do like the golden butterflies, ... i was leaning towards some bigger fish than anthias simply because the already mentioned fish may terrorize them, ...

Be wary on the C. semilarvatus, if they don't come in together they may not get along together, and sometimes even if they do come in together, they're not a truly paired couple of fish, just two fish thrown together. Adding one after the fact is risky, so add them all at once. Personally, I'd go for a larger wrasse, maybe a Thalasoma or Green Bird, and an eel, probably a Zebra Moray.

I've seen larger Volitans kept with Holacanthus and Pomacanthus Angels, which is what I'd be most worried about. Moreso actually than the Bluethroat, which is really a fairly mild fish. If the Lionfish goes in first, I think you might be okay with both.
