Fish Tank Monitoring System

Hi all,

Now that my tank is once again starting to flourish I have decided on embarking on a system to monitor the status of my tank and control its variable functions from anywhere in the world.
Alerts are forwarded to a pop3 email account which has SMS forwarding to alert me of any possible mishaps.

Hopefully this will make worries during travel / holidays a thing of the past

I have looked into systems already made for this but they are limited in functionality and cost the earth.

This is what I have designed I thought I would share it with you guys, comments and ideas are more than welcome,

Thanks - ahould be up and running in the next couple of months so I will be able to post with the details of the site etc

Have costed the project at circa 400

Making a change to the plan in that I will be using 1 camera that allows for better night vision and can be tilted so that I can see both upper and lower regions of the tank, removing the need for two cameras

People in intensive care are monitored less than this.

Have you considered a career in air traffic control?

lol, humm nah risks are too low compared to marine, lol
