Fish Trap as Acclimation Box

So I took a chance (perhaps a foolish chance) and added a Coral Beauty to my tank and as I suspected the Flame Angel was chasing him pretty hard core. So I put the Coral Beauty in my fish trap as protective custody until hopefully the Flame looses interest.
Question is will the Coral Beauty get enough flow in the trap? 8 holes are drilled in it.

Other option is to try and catch the Flame angel and throw him in the sump.

IMO, that tiny trap with no place to hide, is going to really stress out the CB

Toss in a little piece of PVC in there he can swim in. As for flow toss in a little food in there and see how it swirls around.

Food particles are flowing around. He is very chill now compared to earlier. I'll have to find a piece of pvc or maybe a solo cup

I would at least turn it horizontally and put some rocks in there. Move the trap around every day so the other fish can get used to the new fish in the tank.

We get lettuce at COSTCO. They come in a container that's about 20"x10"x7". I use it to acclimate all my fish to the new arrivals. It works pretty well.

Cool. I'll see if I have room to lay it horizontal. Just didn't know if I needed to run an airline or something in there. I guess that might just freak him out more.

Hard to tell from video, but looks like Flame is male, not gonna give up easy, especially with small CB

I agree. Seeing He video I would try to catch the flame and put it in the sump for a month while the new fish establishes itself. Then introduce the glam in the trap.

So far so good. Don't want to speak too soon but I let the Coral Beauty out after about two hours of the soft blue lights being on. I opened the trap and put it upright so he could come and go as he pleased. Mostly Flame Angel has ignored him. At one point he swam up to him within an inch or so and then just swam away. We shall see.

Coexisting. Coral Beauty is staying back by the trap. Flame isn't the least bit interested thus far.
