Fish with ich?

I am new to this hobby and I noticed my blue tang had white spots on it and kept rubbing on rocks. Then they went away. This morning they were back and my clown fish had them too with a film on it and kept hanging out in front of the water flow. I just checked on them and the clown is dead! From what I have read it sounds like ich. What do I do? I have a 14 gallon nano tank with another clown fish and two starfish. Will this kill my star fish or shrimp??

Sounds like velvet or brook when the fish has "with a film on it". First, it would be best to establish a quarantine protocol and use it on every new fish (my blog has a recommended one). Second, read the stickies to give you an idea of what you are experiencing.

Thanks Steve. I did look at your blog but was still a little confused. What are the stickies? Do you know if this will hurt my harlequin starfish?

The "stickies" are at the top of each forum and are called that because they "stick" rather than scroll off as time passes and more posts occur. Starfish are not susceptible to ich, brook, or velvet.
