Anyone know these guys?

Sadly, it seems as if this is yet another aquarium gadget that will never hit the market, or by the time it does, others will have beat them to the punch.

It's too bad because I had high-hopes for this one as I do believe there is a void in the aquarium market for a "simple to connect & program" controller.

Still, 1.5 years after placing the initial order, there is nothing to show for it. Their last FB post was in July...OF 2016! My last communication with them was in Mar of 2017 and they said I would have the controller by August of 2017. I've sent several emails requesting an update since then and absolutely nothing. Their last Kickstarter thread update was also in 2016. No responses to any of the backers since then.

I'd hate to say it at this point (especially since the few conversations I had with Nate up until this point were all positive), but it seems as if the company has imploded and all the Kickstarter Money (over 80k) they raised has disappeared into the failed Kickstarter project abyss.

At this point, my only option is to request a refund through my CC. Again, I hope these guys eventually figure it out, but due to the lack of communication, I don't see it happening.

So oddly enough, I went to dispute this charge through my CC, only to find out that I had actually paid via PayPal.

When I went into PayPal to dispute through them, I noticed they actually refunded the money almost exactly one month after I purchased the device. This is back in 2016.

Why in the world they would have done that, I have no idea. How in the world I didn't notice it had been refunded is even weirder.

And weirdest of all, is the fact that I had several communications with them after the date of refund where they told me they were still trying to ship the product out to me.

This is definitely an odd situation.

All that said, at the end of the day I have the money in my PayPal account so I guess all is good.

But again, truth be told, I really wanted to try this thing. I do really hope they launch one day.

Until then, Aquatronica it is.
