Fishes Slim coat

Is this true that when fishes get stress they lose some of their slim coat making them vaulnerable to disease? If so is there a solution to bring back the slim coat? I read through alot of water conditioning products and they said it helps protect the slim coat or give them a new slim coat like that water conditioning product Stress Coat has aloe vera but does it work? And if the fish gains its full slim coat would it stop disease from getting on it? Thanks

Like most things in life .. a small amt of truth is often used to fabricate a bigger lie.

Fish do need a mucas lining .. and many fish will generate excess mucas in their attempt to shed parasites. I can't see any logical connection between those two facts and the claims that adding aloe vera prevents parasite.
