The camera couldn't get the color of the piece in this pic.
Acan8- not acurate color.jpg
This is the other piece I got but have no idea what it is. The colors aren't very accurate as it's hard to no over expose the nuclear green middle and the edge is a nice and red. Any idea what it is?.

Not average at all. Very nice pics! Acan looks sweet!! Very nice pick ups.
Thanks G:beer:.
I payed 37 bucks for the two of them so I'm very pleased. Just curious but what would a Acan a bit bigger than your palm cost in the states? Any Idea what the second corals is?

Seems like a good price! Its a bit more expensive than that normally. I've seen for a 2-3inch one, $25-$30.. no idea on the other one

I've been tagging along. An Acan like that here in the states would be atleast $175.
Tank looks good. I like the rock work.

Don't know where you shop but damn lol. I have seem them in the hundreds. but those are the highly demanded ones. You can go on liveaquaria and get them for $50-80

OK so it's pretty similar over in Florida then. I posted a ID thread in the lps forum and they said that it was a war coral.

Thanks hope you've enjoyed the ride so far. Wow that is alot for a acan:eek1:. Thank you very much:beer:

Yeh it a very pretty coral, tried to get a feeding response from it last night but it wasn't playing ball. The Acan was very quick to eat mysis and the hammer ate some too.

Killer pics man!! When do you feed the Acan? I know nothing about them...do you have to wait until you spot tentacles?

Thanks for the kind words spoon:beer:, I'm slowly getting the hang of macro pics. I'll feed the acan three times a week and I wait for 30 mins or so after the lights go off, you should see tentacles come out. I use a piece of air line and suck up some thawed out mysis in a bit of tank water and put a small piece in the center of each polyp. It should slowly start dragging the food into its mouth.

I did a water change yesterday and I also took the sand out as I think it's leaching phosphates which is causing a small algae bloom. I also found the tank looks a lot brighter with out the sand, which is interesting.

Here's some pics of where I get my water. More pics to come.

Cool :) take pics of that bare bottom!

Beautiful beach fishy! Have to go visit you over there now haha from what I was told. The water you collect for water changes, just make sure it's in a high flow area with minimal boat traffic. It will be cleaner like that. Just a tip.
That area is very nice btw. Close to where you live?

Thanks Gabriel, Yes the area has very low boat traffic and has very strong tides, so water is very healthy and it's only 5 mins for my house. Yes you will have to come visit me sometime. Here's a video of some local guys catching some samson fish at one of my fav spots(their called samson fish for a reason.....they pull your arms off when you hook a big one:D). I'll take a pic of the bare bottom(the tanks bottom, not mine:lol:)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de9Va-xtprc

That's good. I can't see the video for some reason. I'll try in the morning when I'm on the computer. Sounds good though. And lol I hope so
