Flagfin Angel?

Have a flagfin, currently in QT, haven't treated it yet. Been there for alittle over a week. I know these fish don't have a the best track record, but the one I picked up was aggressively eating at the fish store and continues to do so in my QT. Haven't decided if I'll treat for anything yet as I don't see any reason to do so.

For anyone that has been able to keep them long term, is there a point that at which you can say, it's made it and will last? He's not quite an adult yet as he doesn't have the black spot on his head. Eating frozen mysis well might also be eating new era spectrum pellets.

Trying to get a good picture of him, and will post if he cooperates.

Never had an issue with flagfin. One of my favorite fishes. In my case, always hardy, eats anything and like a pig. What I love about the flagfin is I find it always swimming around. I have had 3 in my life time. The only reason I lost two of them was a complete tank wipe out twice. The one I currently have, I have had it for around 4 years.Love everything but I mainly feed pellets.

Awesome, glad to finally hear a positive story. Do you have any corals in your tank? I'm definitely more of a fish guy, but am trying to add some corals to make the tank look more natural.

my friend has a pair of the m in his 400 and they destroyed his coral in a matter of weeks... He and I are currently trying to trap them outta there.

Are they adults? Was hoping that having it before it was fully grown might be able to train it to eat prepared food.

I've had one for approx. a decade now, in a 180 then moved into my 300. Full blown mostly sps reef but I do have chalices, faviids and acans that he doesn't bother. He did munch on s micromussa As I placed it in the tank. He will eat zoas so there are none in the tank.

Awesome thanks, already have a zoa muncher in my tank so I'm not overly concerned about that. Basically given up on those. I'll see how he makes it through QT, but looks like he will probably be my next addition

Mine eats aiptasia with gusto, as well as pellets. Never put food it that he didn't devour.
