Has anyone ever kept one of these in a reef tank and if so, with what success? Are they prone to nipping at corals. If so, which ones? How about clams?

Thanks.

Well, mine sure isn't but he's in a reef tank cuz i cant catch him and hes so dang pretty.

i had to move all my LPS out of the tank into my frag tank. If you're goin only sps i think it'll be alright but lps i'd say good luck.

ariel, is yours eating? it's pretty difficult to find a eating one.

I received one from reefhotspot yesterday and ate frozen brine shrimp right away. I haven't seen it nip anything yet but been circling polyps. xenia and galaxy a lot. Since I put the fish in I only have the actinics on for an hour or so for feeding and will keep the light off for another day for everything to settle in. Will find out tomorrow when I've the lights on and everything opens up.

mine also ate frozen brine this morning. Its very small maybe a inch. Hoping to get it started on small pellets.

I got lucky the two days ago when I dropped into my LFS (well actually not that local:p ).

I was surprised to see it still there (I just happened to be there about a week before that). At the LFS I put some pellets into the tank and he went after it immediately, so when the store owner gave me a great price, I went for it.

I released it in the display tank shortly before the lights went out. My Purple Tang chased it for a few minutes until the lights went out. But the next day, there was no more chasing and it was out and in the open. So far all of my LPS and softies are fine. I never saw him nip at any corals yet.

I'll update in a few days.

I have a goldflake angel (which is in the same family as the flagfin) and he does fine in that reef/fish only tank, but the only corals i have in that one is softies
