Flagstone in the Reef Tank

Has anyone tried using flagstone in there reef tank? Any ill effects? Any way to check if the flagstone is reef safe?

It is a mined rock from the land and will probably have some nutrients in it that will leach into the tank. I would not suggest it's use.
