Was in House of Fins in Greenwich CT yesterday, and got an awesome surprise at the checkout counter. They've got a Flamboyant Cuttlefish in a nano!
These videos are large. Sorry. And taken with an older model iPhone - so not great quality. Sorry again. But hopefully you can see how incredible this little cephalopod is.
Swimming (15MB file)
Feeding (60 MB file)
I've been dying for one of these for quite a while. But this one is not for sale - it's a pet shop pet. But they say they can get more. I won't quote how much they want for one, but open your wallet. Wide.
Which is too bad really, as this one appears to be mature. And they only live a year or so in good conditions. So no telling how long it's still got to live... 8 months, 6 months, only 2? No way to know. But it's a lot of do-ray-me for an invert that's only going to be with you a little while - at best. But still an AMAZING animal.
PS - sorry about having to down load the video to see it. I tried loading it to Vimeo, but because I shot the video in portrait mode, they auto-rotate it to landscape. And even rotating the original video so that it will be the correct orientation after they rotate it still does not work. So if you want to see it, you have to down load it. Sorry.
PPS - These videos take a few minutes to open after you click the link. So don't panic if it takes a while.
