Flame Angel Died

I bought my Flame Angel from a respected LFS exactly 7 days ago. I acclimated him for 1 1/2 hours and as soon as i put the fish into the tank (75 gal) he swam around met everyone ( i have a Diamond goby, black occeleris clown, organge clown, a small yellow tang, and a spotted mandarin fish then a cleaner shrimp, banded serpent star and 12 hermit crabs) My yellow tang the first day gave him some trouble when it went into the tangs territory and the tang would see him and quickly push him out then after that the angel set up his own space on the other side and since then no aggression at all between the fish. Well today i woke up and the angel wasnt swimming around as much and definatly not active. When it was time to feed them he didnt swim to me like he usually does with all the other fish and didnt seem to eat much. then tonight i found him upside down under a rock dead... I quickly checked the params and ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, and ph 8.2 i read about they cant withstand copper and since i have inverts living in my tank for 3 months i assume there isnt any copper but i will bring a sample to my LFS tomorrow when they open. Any ideas? i inspected the body of the fish and there are literly no bite marks or anything on the fins or body... Im just wondering if i should be worried for the other fish! Thanks in advance!

Well anytime you don't QT a fish you always have to worry about your current stock. Hopefully he died of natural causes and not from a parasite that will now infect your main tank. Keep your fingers crossed. When you don't QT a fish your playing Russian Roulette in my opinion. Good Luck

Flame Angels can be tricky like that. There are just way to many factors to determine exactly what happened, but in the future, an hour and a half is generally a bit lengthy of an acclimation period. When you acclimate for extended periods of time like that you can run in oxygen deprivation issues. I only acclimate for around 45 minutes max and have never had any problems.
