flame angel - disease?

Hello:

Hoping someone can tell me if my flame angel fish has sometype of disease.

There are white dots all over my flame fish. Is this Cryptocaryon Irritans (Saltwater Ich) disease?

Is this the Correct Treatment? Copper Sulfate is the old stand by treatment. Forma-Green may also be used. For stubborn strains, try some Quinine Sulfate.

I don't have a quarantine tank. Will it affect my other fishes in the tank? Will it kill my other fishes in the tank?

I believe I need a buy a quarantine tank right now to treat it correct?

Yes, it's ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) for sure. White spots are the give away.

I wouldn't use copper or copper based medications for Angels. They are sensitive to those.

Use any other kind of medication for treating ich.

The meds will not kill your fish, but yes they will be affected by it. No medicating in a reef tank though, that's a no-no.

If it's ick, the best place to treat is a quarantine tank. A note on copper - if you treat with copper in your display tank, you can't put inverts in your tank. They will die from copper poisoning. Copper will remain in your system and removing it is pretty much impossible. IMO, adding any medication to your tank is bad news and should be avoided. Research a freshwater dip. It is effective, and when done properly and very carefully, runs a fairly low risk of fish death. Another thought is researching hypo-salinity treatment.

As far as hurting your other fish, it depends on the type of fish and their sensitivities. Why treat a fish that isn't sick? I think that practice can make treating them when they need it more difficult because of resistance.

In a pinch, a 5 gallon homer bucket from home depot and an inexpensive air pump and stone make a quick quarantine.

Raise the temperature because ich is only vunurable when it is floating in the water... Also i think that dropping the saltanity help but not deffinet.
