Flame angel not grazing

I picked up a flame angel about a week and a half ago and read that they like to graze on green marine algae on a clip. My angel took a couple nips the first day and now will not even look at the stuff. Should I be trying something else? Or is he just a picky angel? Could I put kale lettuce or something like that on the clip?

Mine really doesn't go after the nori clip, but does graze upon the rocks all day long. What size tank, how much live rock, how "mature" is the live rock?

Mine doesn't go after nori and really doesn't graze much off the rocks. It may be a function of what and how much you feed and just the individual fish's tastes.

I have a 65g with some newer rock (a couple months old) and some rock that's been in about a year--total of about 60 lbs. He does graze quite a bit on the rock.

Try red, purple, brown algaes as well. Rubberband them to a rock and place among the rockwork. This is more natural for them than the clip. Though really, some fish just never take to dried seaweed sheets. If it eats whatever else you feed, you could include spirulina flakes in the mix. If it appears otherwise healthy and isn't losing weight, I wouldn't worry though.

I did think about rubberbanding a sheet of the green algae to a rock, but maybe I'll look for the other algaes.

UPDATE: picked up some dry brown seaweed and put that on the clip and the flame really liked it. The guy at the LFS said the green stuff can be hard for dwarf angels to rip off to eat, so I went with the brown and he seemed to like it. I'm trying to train the flame to graze on something so when I put corals in, it will hopefully reduce the chances of him grazing on them!

My flame loves green algae sheets. I dissolve it in water so it breaks up and than I'll soak it in a little garlic and the male I have goes goes over that. I also mix a little more in with Rods food orginal and he goes nuts everytime

Unfortunately that is not going to be the case. Flames can be totally good citizens and then over night have a Eureka moment with regards to meaty corals.
