Flame angel popeye in QT

Received a bonded pair of flame angels last Thursday, have been in QT since, woke up yesterday and the larger one has one swollen eye. Other looks fine, but the swollen eye is very swollen.

Checked water and ammonia crept up a bit, so did a water change and put in aged water from my 180 system. Also added some AmGuard, so ammonia is now in check. Also been dosing Melafix, and fed some DR G's antibacterial food.

Anything else I should do? I was going to do another water change tomorrow, and maybe increase to 2x dosage of melafix.

Should I add to the display tank, water quality is then not going to be a question, but I then won't be able to treat?

Any suggestions, I'm open.

That's been my general thought on the stuff so far.

Where can I find kanamycin? I've searched marinedepot and DFS and can't find?

Kanaplex by Seachem is one product. National Fish Pharmacy carries a kanamycin product called Kana Pro as well.

I ordered some kana pro, won't get here until the weekend. A friend had some nitrofuracin green, so I added this. For the time being, got to be better than melafix right?

Thanks for your help chris, I'll keep you posted. Will use the kana pro once it gets here.

A friend showed me this website, looks like they have some very good meds, just posting in case it can help someone in the future.

I've tried Nitro, and tried Kanamycin and the eye is still raised, nothing had an effect.

Fish is still happy and eating, no other problems just would be nice for his eye to go down.

Is this going to be permanent do you think?

And will it affect him in any other way?

Is it causing him discomfort?

Unilateral pop eye is usually from a bacterial infection initially but once it stretches out the membranes behind the eye, even if the infection is cleared, it takes a while for the eye to return to normal, if it ever does. There's no bubbles? That is good. An antibiotic with a different spectrum is erythromycin and I have had success treating popeye cases with this as recommended by the product label provided with national fish pharmaceuticals.

I am trying furan 2 right now for the same thing I have just done 2nd dose ,will let you know . I did the med u are using now that starts with a E and it did nothing .
