flame angel questions

since the search function very rarely works on this site I hope somebody can chime in with some input. Are they easy to manage, I have mostly LPS in my tank and some zoas, are they problem causers for those typs of corals? Do they get along with most other fish? I have a yellow wrasse and on the liveaquaria.com website on the compatibility chart it says that dwarf angels and fish only species wrasse, which it says the yellow wrasse is, it says use caution with regards to the two being together? any input?

i dont know about the wrasse but i had a flame angel and i returned him cause he picked on all my small polyped corals.

They are hit or miss. If it messes with anything, the most likely culprits will be clams and LPS like brain corals or the like. Mine have never messed with euphyllias or softies. I have had three over the years and they all behaved pretty well.

I had a flame angel, and it always seened to nip at my capnella. How big is the wrasse? Like Patrick12, stated, they are hit or miss, and this also goes with putting fish together. My buddy has a lunare wrasse that is a model citizen, whereas another friend of mine had one that picked on EVERYTHING! I dont think it would be a problem..

the wrasse that I have is a yellow wrasse, it is about 1.5" long. Marine Dreams in Bradenton has 2 flame angels right now and I think I wanna get one, they look awesome, I just want to make sure first.

I have 3 or 4 flames in different tanks and they don't seem to bother any of the SPSs or softies, I don't have much for large polyp corals in the tanks with the flames. In a previous tank (before lightening strike) I had a flame that observed a large coran angle pick on open brains and the Flame started picking on the raw edges left by the Coran angles picking . They had me well trained, every time I'd sit in front of the tank they would dive bomb the open brain and take a nip, I'd get up and feed the fish and they would leave it alone. They knew I would feed them again if they would take a nip out of the fleshy corals. as I said they had me well trained. As long as I was overfeeding the tank they left the open brains alone.

the only corals that I have in my tank are a small hammer coral, a fairly large candy cane coral, xenia like crazy, and some small patches of zoas. im trying to frag some of the xenia right now and bring it by marine dreams cause they take trades and I just have so much of the stuff right now its crazy!
