Flame angel with clams/lps

I just did a search and saw this question has been asked many times. I will read through all the previous posts. Thanks

My Flame is in with a Derasa clam, favia, trumpets, hammer and some zoas in a mostly SPS display. About two years so far and good as gold! I had a Coral Beauty too for nearly seven years with no issues as well. They are individuals however and each one will vary. I think big factors are first to get a young fish, and feed well for less trouble. That said there are many post stating that "good" angels can turn "bad" with out warning after years in a system.

I've had flame angels, coral beauties, and bi-color angels in reef tanks with soft corals, lps, nems, and other inverts; no clams or sps though, unfortunately. Nonetheless, I agree with Bax- start with a young specimen and keep it well-fed with a proper and varied diet (all too often overlooked, IMHO), and you should be fine.

Over the years, I've had/tried a variety of dwarf angel's. Ultimately each one had/acquired a taste for something in my tank. The last one, a Flame Angel, didn't touch any of my corals(LPS/SPS), but had a taste for clam mantle. So, I think they are very hit or miss.
The only Angelfish I've never had a problem with are the: Watanabei and
Lamarck's.

I agree, Genicanthus varieties are safe. All else is a roll of the dice.

I have a 8" squamosa, LPS, SPS, softies, zoas, all sort of anemones...
Pomacanthus imperator and navarchus, Pygoplites diacanthus, Centropyge loricula, bisbinosus, acanthps and argi. No problems...
Not saying that there couldn't come some later, but so far everything is smooth sailing...

I wonder the same thing and I scoured the LPS tank pics on the LPS forum and couldn't find any tanks with a centropyge in it. I really want one in my LPS dominated reef, and I think I'm going to try it too. I'll probably be on here asking for fish trap ideas in a couple of moths though.lol

my flame always picked at my sps and lps. I had to get rid of it. My buddy has a flame and coral beauty in his reef tank and they are fine
