I REALLY want to get this fish for my BC29 as it is absolutely my favorite fish but I know they can nip at some soft corals and clam mantles and I plan on having both in my tank. I'm debating whether I'm willing to risk it because they are such beautiful fish.

Ive had mine for about a year now. Hes been with zoanthids, LPS, SPS, softies, anemones, and clams. Never nipped at anything. Keep them well fed and you shouldnt have a problem. Although the only problem I see is your tank size. Mine looked a little cramped in my 55g. He is very happy in my 125g now.

I have heard that more then once that my tank is too small but these fish max out at 4" and I have seen on online fish stores that list minimum tank size of 30g so I am close to that.

I've had mine for almost a year and a half. He's been with many softiies, zoanthids, mushrooms, LPS, SPS and clams. Of those, the only thing he's bothered is my crocea clams and that was only one day about a year ago. He pecked at all 3 of them the entire day, and they were all closed up as a result. The next day, he left them alone and hasn't touched them since. He's currently in a tank with 5 clams (3 crocea, 1 derasa, 1 maxima). He's never pecked at any of the corals.

He's pretty territorial, and along with my male lyretail anthias, he's the co-boss of the tank. All new fish get roughed up by him at least a little bit.

My flame angel (the only fish in my 29g) leaves my SPS and soft corals alone. I have no LPS corals. I have been hesitant to get a clam, though, as the fish seems to delight in harassing my snails.
