flame angelfish

i have had a flame angelfish for about 2 months, he was one of the most active fishes in the tank and was very healthy and eating when i bought him.
he just died after hiding in a cave a lot without swimming for a few days, apparently not eating, he was pale and breathing hard.
I was wondering why he would starve himself, he was never getting pushed around by other fish and he always had opportunities to get food if he wanted to, he showed no signs of disease

Sorry to hear it. I lost a Potter's the same way -- she was fat, eating like a pig, in full colour and looked fantastic for a week. On day eight she started breathing hard, hiding, and within 12h she was dead on the bottom. Like your angel, she showed no signs of disease and wasn't being harassed.

Im very new to "reefcentral" so i dont really if im asking the right people. I have a flame angelfish that i recently added into my aquarium with a pair of maroon clowns. Last night i got home from work and the flame looked like it had salt all over it. I added "ParaGuard" to the tank and this morning everyone else is eating except the flame. most of the salt look is gone but he is still laying on the bottom. The question is, does this fish stand a chance of survival?

Thanks

Wyatt

"Salt" on the body usually means Ich. Move it to a quarantine tank and treat it there.
