Flame angel's together during transport?

How aggressive are flame angels when put together during transport?

Our LFS doesn't get them here in Lebanon. So, the next best option is to order them internationally. Several of my fellow enthusiasts here want a flame angel, but one of them mentioned that this particular species is generally hostile and aggressive towards its own kind.

Suddenly, i got worried... Whenever we order fish, they always come in styrofoam boxes with individual bags filled with water and oxygen. Being that this transport is already stressful for the fish, would putting several flame angels (in separate bags of course) in the same styrofoam box cause them more stress? I dont want them to spend the entire time in transport trying to kill each other.

Can anybody provide me with some insight on this? Common sense would say that its too dark for them to see each other once the box is sealed. But i dont wanna take any chances...

Generally when I receive a shipment they are put in 2 bags. The first bag actually holds the fish with the water and the second bag comes with news paper around it so the fish does not see out of the bag.

I order regularly and get 16 flame angels in a box no problem. The fish seeing each other is not the worst thing that could happen. You could have the bag leak, bags get too cold or too hot, they run out of oxygen.

Where will you be buying from and how long is the flight?

Im actually going to Paris in a couple weeks. I usually buy stuff from a LFS there and this will be the first time i actually buy fish. I basically pay in advance for a few flame angels. Once they arrive in at the LFS in Paris, he lets them rest for about a week till i get there. Ill choose the ones i want, and he will re-package them into the bags and styrofoam box for me to take back to Lebanon on my flight which is only 4 hours long. That being said...its still a risk and im sure very stressful for the fish.

Thats the best i can do, unless you know of a supplier who can directly ship them to me internationally. I have not found a supplier that is ok with sending an order of just a few flame angels. I wouldn't mind ordering 16 flame angels, if thats what it takes. I know i wouldn't have any trouble finding good homes for them.

Cheers

You should be ok with the fish in separate bags. Some bags are colored. if you are concerned, you could ask the seller to put paper or rags between the bags.
