Flame Angels

So I have been wanting a flame angel for a while and I finally found a nice one at a local LFS. I knew it could be hit or miss with corals but man, the lil guy tore up my poci. It was a pretty nice sized colony that has been gobbled up.

I knew there was a risk and it was one I was willing to take because I have wanted a Flame Angel for a while. Oh well, hopefully he won't start tearing up my LPS. As long as he stays away from those he will be one of my favorite fish in my tank.

If you have a pretty big collection of SPS, I would def stay away from these guys though. It can go through a colony pretty quick.

i think if one starts off with a smaller specimen, he/she will have a better chance. older angels tend to be harder to train not to eat certain corals.

I have tried 3 flame angels so far. Each one has went after SPS and left LPS alone. Just my experience.

Wish I could keep a flame, one of my favorite fish!

I have had three. A single and a pair later on in another tank. The single didn't touch anything. He was a bully but clams, anemones, sps and lps were all safe. The pair, only the female would touch a particular sps. She must have sensed it was weak or dying because she would pass the other corals to get to it. Once the coral grew back she didn't bother it. Also, I increased my feedings-which may have played a part in what happened.
