Flame angels

Do Flame angels generally try to eat clams?

We had to take ours out because it was nipping at the clams.

The flame angel I had in the past never nipped at my clam.

Well, I just had an idiot moment. It was a Coral Beauty that was nipping. Never had a Flame Angel. Woops.

That's what you'll hera from everybody, cause that's the situaton with the Flames, some can live in reefs with SPS and Clams for reefs for years and some will start nipping the moment they get in the tank.
It's up to you if to try this or not.

So here's my situation. I have had my Flame angel for a year now with Branching hammer, Frogspawn, Favia, Torch coral, Trumpet, Toadstool, Cabbage leather, Tree leather, and a Fox coral. He doesn't nip at any of that stuff

Of course not......they are not tasty : )

From my experience, Flames , when they do nip, they usualy go for SPS, second in the list are clams.

They might also nip on injured or bleached corals.
