Thinking about getting a Flame Hawkfish next. I also have 2 halloween crabs and a porcelain crab. Is the Flame Hawk ok with these guys?

They should be fine mine doesn't bother anything; not even arrow crabs and peppermint shrimp! Just make sure you feed it! And congrats vice versa to you I just got 3 porcelain crabs today!

Always taking a risk when trying to get Creatures to go against their natural instinct, Flamehawks are ambush predators by nature. That being said i've had one with a fireshrimp, Several small hermits and emeralds. And two large porcelains with no problems.

However i housed them together accepting the fact that in a few years time the hawk might have put enough size on to change his mind about whats meal sized or not.

I also have a tiny yellow goby that will fit on a nickel. Will a hawk pose a problem to such a small fish? I have a 90G cube.

I had those two species together for awhile and got away with it( but again they are predators by nature and the potential is always there so yes there is a risk that somewhere down that road that yellow clown goby gets gobbled up, unfortunately its the risk we take with this species, I have been lucky in that mine has been a model citizen in regards to not eating small crustaceans and tiny fish.

However he's my favorite fish so if anything were to happen he would get the tank anyway, hence me being willing to take the risk.
IMO they are worth it because they are a a beautiful fish and have loads of personality.

Yeah I am thinking along those lines too. Not sure if the spouse agrees though :)
