these guys do not survive long in an aquarium regardless of experience level or tank maturity and are best left in the ocean. they are filter feeders that we can't possible provide with the nutrition required.
I bought one about 6 months ago and it disappeared after about 6 weeks. I wrote it off after I read how hard they were to keep and impossible to keep alive.
Amazingly it showed up in the bottom of the tank 2 weeks ago looking a bit pale. I was feeling happy until I found its shell cleaned out yesterday. Now I had to loose it twice.
I have had one for about a year but I don't do anything special for it asides from DT's. But they don't do well over long periods of time I got it as a gift from my friend who thought it would look cool in my tank. I don't think I would have bought it myself.
