Flame wrasse in a 60gal???

I wonder if a flame wrasse can do well in a 60gal (but not in a regular one) 24x24x24 (my guess is that the answer is no).

Please, I need feedback from people who already have or had this wrasse. I want to know about their behavior and the size of your tank.

i had a pair in my 60g cube, alot depends on the other fish as well and making sure tank is covered

My bioload is really low and I didn't have really agressive or bully fish...I have a pair of ocel clown, a pair of circus goby, a black cap basslet, a yellow assesor and 2 pigmy goby.

Thanks for your input...Few month ago, I gave my beloved multifasciatus angel(I owned it for 3 years in my 125gal) to a friend of mine because I feeled that my 60gal was way too small for him...maybe I'm a bit paranoiac about the space my fish need!:uhoh3:

I just added one to my 60 cube and he is doing great. I built a DIY custom sump with a refugium to help out with the bio load and for more live critters. Its a 20 high that i built. I went to Home Depot to buy the acrylic sheet and the best way to cut the acrylic I found out was using a razor knife.

My Livestock consists of a helfrich firefish, platinum picasso, swalesi basslet, rhomboid wrasse, flame hawk, and coral beauty angelfish. All get along great!

I agree that that footprint is too small. We have 2 male Flame wrasses in our 300g tank and they use every bit of space in there.

Have you considered adding a female? Their mating behavior is amazing to watch.

I had a female flame I had to keep in my 20 gal long frag tank for 6 months while I treated for ich. It was glass to glass with the side of my 120 and my supermale flame kept flashing it through the glass, even with the tanks separated by a foot or more. after 3 months the female changed over to an amazing specimen of a supermale, and did fine for over a year until I moved to my 250, two days later he jumped through a tiny hole in my mesh tops. sad story, but you gotta love flame wrasses, I can't stop my females from converting!

Yes, I agree it is amazing to watch... our sub-adult male was a female. I'm hesitant to add another one as there is no guarantee she won't change and 3 males would be just too much.
