This is the shorten version, as the event last 30 min.

Honestly I only seen the male release sperm but I was to busy taking pics to notice.

Very nice.

You need a bracket on the end of your last line of code, right now the picture didnt post.

I'll do it for ya ;)

Awesome! The eggs are tiny, prolly under millimeter. So good luck seeing them. Spotting a moving, clear, under a millimeter target in a fish tank is no easy task. If you put some sort of mesh collector on the overflow, you could probably find some that don't get chewed up by pumps. Aquatic Eco sells mesh if your interested.

Thanks everyone!

Thanks for the info. I don't think I will try to collect the eggs, it's just fun to watch ;).

A good way to tell, in case you miss the release of the gametes, is to look at your other fish. In my tank at least, the anthias will suddenly go NUTS eating what appears to be nothing in the water column after my fish have spawned. HTH. Again, great shots, thanks for sharing. I wish my photog skills were that good

Yep both of my butterfly's when nuts. What surprised me the most is that the female didn't seem to try to get away during the whole event.

Peter, I have seen your thread your pics are pretty good as well. Here's one more just for you :).

Yeah I was going to do that too, but they are too small. It's too stretched out; unless maybe you have an ipad?
