Flasher/Fairy wrasse compatability

WIll male falsher and fairy wrasses be compatible in a 60 gal tank? I am thinking about a Clown fairy (solorensis) and a carpenter or filamentous flasher . Thanks

most times fairys and flashers mix fine..solorensis can be somewhat aggressive though i have never had problems with ones i have kept...but i strongly suggest you socailly acclimate them with a specimen/acclimation cup if have to add them at different times and make sure you have a top to keep them as they are both expert jumpers..something with 1/4" holes or less

Using an acclimation box like this.

did you make the box or bought it? if you bought it, from where? if you made it, whats the specs and whatd you use and other stuff?

Thank you Steve. I learned it from the best of the best. (You)

thank you for the very kind words; however Bradleyj is one of the great innovators. He is probably tired of all the people I send his way. :wavehand:

Ooops, I forgot. If you are going to keep fairy/flasher wrasses, you might investigate the mesh top that he makes. Excellent and efffective.

i got my top idea from Brad and my acclimation cup idea from Steve years ago.. two great reefers with lots of knowledge

Please explain the process for socially acclimating them

you use the box like brad has shown..after i qt i put the new fish in the box..sometimes it might be for a day or two sometimes it is a little longer...i watch the fish for sometime to see how the established ones act to the new guy and how the new fish interacts with the established fish...if the new fish looks really stressed it is obivous to not let it out of the box...keep in mind sometimes there are just some that won't get along for one reason or another..but more times than not using a acclimation box has worked very well for me and i have been able to keep some fairys that look very much alike using this method..when i reales the fish i always do it when the lights are off that way it gets another good nights sleep

awesome box! where did you get it?

I get asked this every time I post a picture of it.
I had it made for me by a member here on RC. But the sad thing is he doesn't have time to make them anymore because of a new job position I believe.
But I do know where there is a nice acclimation box that sells on the web. I just don;t think I can post it. Sorry. Try googleing it.

Thanks for the ID info Lemon.

Brad, that P. attenuatus is stunning. I know these are rare. Do you know if these are becoming more available? Is it an Indian Ocean species?
