Flasher wrasse I.D.

Hello all,

I bought this flasher wrasse at the LFS, and i'm wondering what it is. The wrasse was sold as a female P. mccoskeri, but I don't know if that's correct. It kind of looks like a P. Carpenteri, what do y'all think?

Sorry for the sub par photos.

Looks to me like a Dot and Dash flasher wrasse. I have one and love him. Mine is a little more colorful, yours may be a female or may just be a Juvy. But a great wrasse!

Couple more pictures, can anyone tell of it's a female? If so, I'll go buy the other two regardless of species. I know females can be hard to find.

Thanks for the replies so far, it doesn't look like P. lineopunctatus to me, though I wish it was, they are one of my favorite flashers.

it is a juvi/female. they are rather hard to come by. It looks like either a carpenter or a mccroski to me, but almost all female flashers look identical. HTH nice fish too!

the striping is different from my 'supposed' McCosker juvi pair...so it appears that at least 1 of us does not have McCoskers!

Seems that often, these Juvis are sent to LFS as 'misc' flasher wrasses, and can be had for less than $20...

Thank you both for the responses. She was $25, so definitely a good deal regardless. I'll be sure to grab the other 2 in the next couple of days.
