Flasher Wrasses

I am specifically looking at getting a McCosker's Wrasse and maybe another species male flasher wrasse. I have read they need to be fed at least three times per day, but I was checking to see if this was in fact the norm, or if I could be fine with twice a day feeds or even daily feeds.

Well I have 10 different fairy and flashers and only feed them once no problems they r all fat

I've had my best success with flashers when fed small amounts multiple times per day. I feed pellets 4 times a day through an automatic feeder an then feed frozen on top of that. Make sure you quarantine and treat for parasites (Prazipro).

When you say "best success" do you mean they looked happier and had better color, or just stayed alive?

They looked better and lived longer. Without multiple feelings, they tended to get knife-backed.

My McCosker is fed 2x per day. Mix of mysis and brine shrimp. All food gets put in front of powerhead. He doesn't eat motionless food.

I have two flashers (P. cyaneus, P. mccoskeri) and they are both fat and happy. I feed them twice a day.

So to you all that feed 2 or more times daily, how do you balance that with overfeeding the other inhabitants of the tank and keeping phosphates down overall? Also I will only be able to fit in two feeds during the day (before 8 and after 5), is a night feed OK?

I feed with Rod's Food around lunchtime, and NLS pellets (a mix of 0.5mm and 1.0mm) in the evening. I also provide nori for my herbivores. Current inhabitants of my tank are:

One-spot Foxface
Kole Tang
Blue Reef Chromis
Pair of Ocellaris Clownfish
Royal Gramma
Tailspot Blenny
Blue Flasher
McCosker's Flasher
Firefish

Everyone is well-fed and plump. The Rod's Food has a lot of variation so that everyone gets their fill. The wrasses, chromis, gramma and firefish eat the small bits, while the others eat the largest pieces. The foxface is the biggest pig, so I have to distract him with nori first so he doesn't eat everything.

I carbon dose with NOPOX to keep nitrates and phosphates (relatively) under control.

The McCosker is the pig in my tank. He probably eats the same amount as my percula, goby and firefish eat combined. To keep phosphates under control, I run a skimmer and do regular water changes.
