Flat worms

It's been about a week since I introduced the melanarus and he is doing his job! I have noticed the flat worm population is dwindling away. There has been no conflicts at all with any other fish, even the other coris wrass. He seems to be doing the trick.

I have a Melanurus in each of my tanks. One of my fav fish. Get new frags, or rearrange and within minutes they are all up in the area scoping it out. They are also awesome for "teaching" other fish to eat nori from the clip. Model citizens in my tanks.
Most likely he's tired of eating flatworms and prefers a food variety. Do the FWE and let him clean up whats left.

My "personal" experience with red flatworms is that it seems to be exclusively a symptom of a nutrient problem.
It's the only time I have ever had major outbreaks of them, and once their access to nutrients were limited by one way or another their populations completely collapsed and these days I can't see a single one in any of my tanks.

No siphoning, no chemical control, just fixing the source of the problem.

I test phosphate= 0 ...nitrate test=0 Is there anything else I should test for?
I bought a few frags from a local guy and didn't dip them(stupid on my part!!!). About 5-7 days later I started to see them on my rock.

I fought them for almost a year plus. One turned to three, three to ten, and before i knew it I had hundreds that turned into possibly a thousands. I would have 50+ on a single mushroom I have a 180gl, with lots of coral. Those suckers Killed countless corals. I did the FWE three times, helped a bit but nonetheless they came back. Just as I was going to throw in the towel I gave in and took my chance with a six line wrasse as everyone was telling me. Happy to say, one month later, I've seen less than 20 of them. He worked and I'm happy. Good luck, I know it's the only thing you can focus on...they are ugly

Ya I hate those little things! Maybe I will give my wrasse some more time. When I first got him he was picking them off like a sniper!
