Flatworms... I have them.

Not sure where they came from, but I have a couple in my new display. Right now, in the display, I have 2 peppermint shrimp, 2 red leg hermits, and two Ocellaris clowns. A small spattering of LPS and SPS and a couple of zoa frags. Also, hitchhiker stuff, pods, sponges, macro algae, the usual worm assortment.

I've seen one red flatworm (in my overflow), which I removed, and about three transparent flatworms, with some brown spots (in my sump). I've been following Canar's thread, and just got back from Petland Naperville and saw what a flatworm infestation looks like (thousands and thousands of red flatworms in their reef tanks).

So... do I strike now while I only see a couple? Do these ever not turn into an epidemic?

Yes ASAP. I treated with flatworm exit when I had about 10 of them.
It worked out OK without ill effect.

I have the clear ones, but they aren't a problem. The red ones are the ones to be worried about. You might want to look at canars thread if you are thinking about waiting to treat.

TMPCC sold out shortly after Frank Burr gave a presentation on quarantine procedures that featured this dip at IMAC.

Sharky's has TMPCC on the shelf. I have the red FW, Rod said that they are nothing to worry about. My yellow coris wrasse keeps them out of the display. There are quite a few in the sump/refugium though. I am not too worried about them of Rod says they are ok. I will dip anything that I take to the swap though before giving them to anyone else.

I like Lugol's as a coral dip, but I've also used Warner Marine Research Coral Dip with good success. When dipping zoas and palys, use freshwater in the dip. In my experience, the FW seems to shock the adult nudis and the pop right off. Everything else I use SW for the dip.
