Flatworms newbie

I am not sure how I made it this long without getting flatworms. And am not sure how I got the ones I have now. They are all over a long-established rock and not on any of the new stuff I've gotten recently. They are the bigger, non-violent, peace-loving, type and not the tiny acro killers (which would die of hunger in my tank).

What fish can I get for a 24G nano that would be best for eating these things? The two I think look like possibilities are a Six-Line Wrasse (which I've never had and would like to give a try) and a Melanurus Fairy Wrasse, which seems like it might go further in wiping out flatworms. Any other suggestion or recommendation for another one that will stay small?

anyway, I curious also as I did find 2 worms in moving my tanks. I didn't find any others but I have a feeling that this wont be the last I see of them.

I had them back when i first set up the 34g. Got a 6 line, never touched a one. Then just started siphoning them out any time I saw one and they were all gone in a couple of weeks never to return. The daily mini water changes were a plus too.

when I had flat worms, I got a 6-line wrasse and it did help control the flat worms. It has stayed fairly small (<2"). It does not like it when I try to introduce new fish in the tank, but has been a "good citizen". To get rid of them, I used flat worm exit. I siphoned out as many as I could see - then I put in the FWE. As I started to see the flat worms die off, I would siphon those out. After the treatment, do a water change and run carbon. It took about 2-3 treatments over several weeks to completely get rid of them. The FWE in combination with the 6-line is a good way to eliminate them.

Sounds good. Thanks. I'll pick up both a six-line and FWE. I've been thinking about getting the six-line anyway as the last resident of my tank that I can fit in there. I hope he and the harlequin basslet come to some kind of peace, though -- I've been afraid to put another fish in his turf. We'll see how that goes.

Thus far I've just sucked a bunch of flatworms out with the siphon tube and added a six-line wrasse yesterday. So far the little guy has been doing a lot of poking and sucking in the area where the flatworms are, but I can't verify a "kill" as of yet. We'll see how it goes.

The past couple of days I can not find a single flatworm. The little guy was worth every penny and then some.
