Flipper Mag and Aquarium Seals

I have done a lot of searching and found a few people mention this, but has anybody had any problems with the Flipper mag and their aquarium seals? I try very hard not to hit them, but inevitably I end up grazing them in my Marineland 120 ever so often and it takes a scrape or a chunk out of my corner seals. I am worried that over time I am going to do enough damage to cause leaking. I like to get the coralline scraped off right up to the seal which doesn't seem to cause much trouble, but it is the band and forth motion across the front pane of glass and turning to go back the other way that I sometimes clip it.

Should I be concerned about this? I would think yes? Any tips to avoid further damage?

I use a flipper and have not had any problems like that. Just be careful and you'll be fine.

In any case - the inner "seals" are cosmetic only - they don't really seal a thing
