Float switch to shut off return pump

I am looking for a float valve that I can use to shut off my return pump should the water volume in my DT get too high. I can't actually find one anywhere and I may be searching for the wrong thing.

Are there particular brands that people recommend or is it more a DIY thing?

Additionally I am also interested in having an aqualift pump to ensure a continuous siphon...but it seems this would be configured by constantly sucking water from the U-tube and spitting it back into the main tank...is this the correct setup for that purpose?

I think THESE would do the trick. However, you'll need to switch the wiring as they are meant to turn on when the level drops.

As for your second question, yes, that would be an acceptable setup.

If you can avoid it at all, I'd recommend an drilled drain setup vs a hang-on system.

That is absolutely perfect, thank you so much :)

I will switch to a drain setup eventually, it just isn't an option right now.
