Im not sure if I will need to talk to an engineer to fully answer this question, but I though I would give this a try first since I have always recieved excellent answers from everyone here.
Im looking to set up a 100 gallon tank on the second story in an office building. The flooring underneath the area is set up with 18" TJI joists on 24" centers. The tank has a 6' X 18" base, and the stand might be a little bit wider than that. On top of this, the stand is also quite heavy.
Does anyone know, or has anyone had any experience working with these joists? Can they support equivlant weight to a solid joist? Would a 24" center be too wide? Is there any other issues that I have overlooked?
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks everyone
Chris
