Flow accelerator

yes, a lot of folks use them, I have one in my tank, and in fact Brian had a thread on how to make one from items from lowes for a fraction of the cost. They really do work, but are way over priced. do a search of the threads for accelerator and you should find it.

I bought one of these about 2 weeks ago and it really does increase the flow by a LOT. I put it on my closed loop return and was able to run my system without a single powerhead.
I thought it was worth the money as I would just as soon buy one then mess around trying to make one (not so good with stuff like that)

Yup, that's it... I imagine they are not quite as efficient as the real deal, but if you've got PVC glue and a dremel or other small saw, you should be able to make one for < $2. I needed 8 of them... so at $20/per it would be $160. At $2 per it cost me $16 bucks and an hour or so of time.
