I'm setting up a 125 gallon 5' long tank. I have already purchased a Vortech mp40w off of craigslist and that is working very well. My returns are pumping in about 400 gallons/hour.
I was planning on also putting in a Seio 1500 powerhead that came with the tank I bought, but it appears to be broken. So I'm in the market for more flow.
I'd rather not splurge for an additional vortech, as I'm hoping to keep costs down a bit. I have looked a bit into the Koralia power heads and they seem like they work well at a good price.
How much total flow should I aim for? I was thinking about 3000 gallons per hour, so I was hoping I can just add one more powerhead on the opposite side of my tank from the vortech and be good to go for mostly soft corals and LPS but maybe some SPS as well down the road.
