Flow for 300g

How do I change this?
I'm picking up a 300g 72 x 36 x 27 (LxWxH) in a few weeks. I've always been a fan of getting the flow from powerheads using more powerheads with less output versus 2-3 with higher output so you can spread the flow around better. I'm thinking 4 6105's. Tank will be mostly sps, with some lps, but not much. Also barebottom. Return will be around 1500-1800gph. I already have one 6105 and a 6095. I don't think the 6095 would be of much use with the other 4 6105's so I'll likely just sell it. Maybe keep a cheapo powerhead down low blowing across the back glass to keep detritus from settling in the back. Any thoughts? I'd like to get a wave going for periods in the day, with correct placement, could I achieve this with 4 6105's? All 6105"s will be fitted with wide flow nozzles. Should I switch out one or two with a 6155 or 6255?

Also a question for Roger. What is the flow pattern for the 6155 and 6255?

Thanks

How thick is the glass on this tank? That will be a consideration since buying stronger magnets for the 6105 adds to the cost and may make one of the bigger pumps more practical.

A 6155 covers about 5.5ft by 3ft, it is just a little stronger than a 6105 with the wide flow housing. The 6255 is about the reach of a 6105 with the narrow housing but with a flow as wide as the wide flow housing. Roughly 7ft by 3.5ft covered including the suction and output area. Of course a narrower tank channels the flow extending the reach.

Also, yes a wave should be possible with only the 6105's, the 6155'swould be better suited though, primarily because they click less, this is basically the pump that is in a wavebox. The longer drive magnet results in less movement of the magnet up and down and less clicking.

Glass is 12mm, or .47". Seems really thin for a tank of that size, but I got that off of the marineland websites Q&A section.

So what would be your recommendation if I hadn't given any preference?

I think 4 6105 would be fine, but if you are sure you want a wave, 2 6105 and 2 6155 would result in less noise and a stronger wave (using the 6155's for the wave). I would pair them with a 7096 so you can produce a wave and an interval flow.

Thanks roger. I've got my current 6105 and 6095 running off my apex and they do a great job.

Do the 6155's come with the wide flow housing from the 6255? If not, how much extra are they? Thanks
