Flow for a 10 gal?

I'm looking to get some extra water movement in my 10 gal and was thinking about the Maxijet 400 PH. Can people here tell me if one is more than enough for good flow? Let me give some extra details about my tank;

I have a 10 gal with LR and LS. I'm currently using a Rena X1 canister filter (for runing carbon and phos. removing media) with the return connected to a spraybar for surface movmement. I have nothing else contributing to flow. I plan on having no more than 2 fish (possibly 2 clowns), one fire shrimp, a sand star and a handfull of snails and hermit crabs. My corals will consist of mushrooms, ricordia, 4 or 5 different species of zoanthids, a plate coral, and an open brain. The rockwork is not too tight and has some openings and is mainly towards the back wall. I left just enough room on either side to let the cleaning magnet through.

I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks :)

With the plate and brain corals you don't want real high flow.

How much flow are you getting out of your Rena ?

Just guessing without knowing current GPH I'd say get a powerhead rated for about 150 gph and add a Hydor rotating flow attachment to it.

Hydor

The Rena is rated for 250 GPH and I have the return connected to the spraybar. The spraybar is at the surface level and I use it mainly to break up and move around any surface film that might be present. I like the spraybar and it's not going anywhere. I want to get a PH and will get the Maxijet 400, but my question is will one be enough or should I get a second?

Thanks.

Did you look at the link ?

The rotating device takes up less room than another powerhead and provides changing flow. IMO step up to the 600 and use the hydor.

jmo,

I have a 10g with about a 55x turnover and I could easily keep a plate on the bottom, that spray bar is actually reducing your turnover rate alot

I tried the return with and without the spraybar and much prefer the spraybar as it's great for keeping anything that gathers at the water surface to get blown around and give the intake a chance to get it out. I know the bar slows the flow, but I've always liked spraybars. I think I'll go with one Maxijet 400 and see if that will give me a bit more flow over and around the rocks.

Thanks
