Not sure about that pump but I used the head loss calculator on the front page to figure out what pump I needed. With my 120, I wanted between 5-10x flow through the sump. I ended up getting a oceanrunner 3500. Its rated at around 900 gph but with 1" pipe and a couple of elbows, it comes in just under 700gph for me which is right within my target. You should be shooting for 500-1000gph but I would go with the lower to help the skimmer do its job.
Oh to add to this, the OR3500 is only 60 watts or so. For me to jump up an extra 200 gph would of been an additional 60 watts for a 120 watt rating. Not worth the electricity cost.
