flow for coral happiness

i added another ph to my tank today for more flow in the back of the tank, and i was just wondering how do you know if the flow is too much for the corals? My GSP were gettin blown around, but all the polyps were still out. My SPS are in a lot of flow now, but all of the polyps are still out. I was under the impression that as long as the polyps were still out then the flow was okay. Am i right? if not, then any advice would be appreciated...thanks

Thats a good indicator if they close up you know somethings wrong

For sps corals a 20x per hour turnover rate is good

I have 45x in my tank and about to bump it up to 80x-ish.

good points. but i think the question is: how do you know if there's not the correct flow by looking at the coral? nemofish is asking for physical signs to tell, i beleive?

yeah, that was more towards what i was leaning towards.... i know i need flow, but i just want to make sure the part of the flow that is on the corals is not too much...
