Do you have any issue with lps or the likes?...my tank is 75% sps, with ultra bright lps(brain, doughnut coral, lobo) on the bottom...I just calculated after the powerhead switch I max at 65x and would like to replace on of the koralia's with another mp40

My only 2 cents to this is so long as you protect your LPS from direct flow then they should be fine.

what about flow for cubes ? my guess is they need less turnover... the water seems to bounce on the side panels before loosing much velocity because of the shorts distances...

I think the more the better. As long as its not a maxi jet pointing directly at something. I run 40X and need more. I will be adding another vortech asap which would increase flow to 20X. Then we will be flowing.

I have the following tunze on a controller on my 90G:

(2) 6101 and (1) 6105. This gives me 32X to 108X turnover rate. I also have 2 tunze 6025 behind the rockwork, that are simply to keep debris from settling behind there.

Thanks, Steve

I think a cube would be awesome for random flow. You could place power heads at each of the corners and aim toward the center of the tank. This would give you some awesome random flow. I have a 5' tank so I have power heads on the sides aiming toward the center.

i have about 50x, but since i added the extra flow my sand bed has been everywhere i just moved everything to a 180? Any advice on this matter? The tank has been up and running for about 2 months do i need to wait for the sand to mature before adding the extra flow or is that something that resolves on it's own?

I have a mp40w on my 65g and just bought another one for the other end and I'll have them slave off each other...can't wait

i thought i might ask you guys... I have a 24 NC w/ a ton of sps, for flow I have a Koralia Evo putting out 425 gph, an MP10 on lagoon, and a maxi 1200 return. Does anyone think thats too much? The flow seems pretty spread out.

on my 90G DT i have 3 x MP40W on full laggon mode and 2 x 6045 blowing on the ground to suspend detritus, i think that gives me 145 turn over. I struggle to keep anything except for SPS tho not sure wether from flow orthe 10x54w PM.

I like to be up over 100x (aiming for around 250 on full noise with my new tank), but then I'm not really a fan of using turnover as a yardstick. Dynamics are much more important to me. :)

Oh, haha. 58g

2x Tunze 6025
1x Koralia Nano (behind the rocks to keep things moving)
Mag7 Return

Right around 50x turnover
