Flow help for 80g

I just put in an order for a custom build 80g tank dimensions 48"x16"x24"L I currently have a mp10 but I know it isnt going to fit on my tank due to the 1/2" glass thickness. I was debating whether I should purchase a Gyre, it seems that the smaller one should do the job just fine from the reviews I read, but I'm willing to go to XL-150 if needed. My other option is to go with a mp40wqd and supplement with a few koralias or something similar? Anyone have experience and would care to shed some light on their insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for the help guys,

Nick

I have an mp40 on my 40 breeder. It's actually a bit much for my tank. I can only turn it to about 40-50% power before it hits the glass on the other side and blows sand everywhere. 1 should be plenty. My return pump is 950gph as well so I have tons of movement and tank turnover. I think on a 4' tank you could probably do 70% power or more without issues.

I have a Gyre 130 and MP10's - for that long of a tank I would get the MP40 and supplement with your existing MP10 - If it is wireless, you can run one of the ecosmart programs.

The issue with using my mp10 is the glass thickness it is not approved for 1/2" glass, do you still think it will work? I have heard stories of it going either way
